KOINSEP are a type of business that aims not only at profit, but also at social welfare and solving social problems. The goal of these social enterprises is to provide economic and social benefits to the community and its members.
They are legal entities under private law, and despite their social label, they do not cease to be businesses. The KOINSEP have the task of being levers of local development and social benefit, while at the same time they must remain economically viable.
Therefore, they combine cooperative principles with business logic. Members have cooperative participation and the right to influence decisions, while profits are shared fairly among employees.
