Arianna Spyrou is a filmmaker and artist, whose work ranges from self-illustrated stop motion films to documentaries and is interested in the complex and interconnected relationship between nature and man. She graduated from the University of the Aegean, School of Cultural Technology and Communication and holds an MSc “Environment and Development” from the National and Technical University of Athens, specifically the B direction “Environment and Development of Mountain Areas”, where her interests included approaching biodiversity with systems thinking, and examining and interpreting mountain trails and the stories of mountain inhabitants in digital media through an audio walk. She has also worked in the video studio of ZKM | Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe and interviewed for Istorima/SNF. By combining different media, she aims to contribute to the preservation of mountain heritage and biodiversity.
