Walking between two beautiful characteristic stone-built Zagorochoria villages.

An easy hiking route, ideal to discover the secrets of the daily life of the local inhabitants.

The route in brief:

Gardens→ Lazaridis Bridge→ Kapesovo

The route in detail:

This route unfolds various characteristic tasks of the daily life of the inhabitants of the past times, as it used to be a path where it served the agricultural activities of these two villages. The route starts from the village of Kipi in the direction of the picturesque stone village of Kapesovo. At the beginning of the route, we meet the famous single-arch stone bridge of Lazaridis, which connected the two villages and facilitated the passage and movement of the inhabitants. Following the path, we will pass by the remains of the homonymous watermill, which played a crucial role in the life of the villages as families from the surrounding villages used it to grind their wheat.

The path runs parallel to the bed of the Vikaki stream and climbs uphill through dense vegetation until we come across the traces of an old threshing floor, another reminder of the agricultural activities of a bygone era. Continuing we have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful natural environment of unique biodiversity in a delightful setting with tall and green oaks. Along the way we encounter the rough terrain and steep slopes where the locals used to create terraces to cultivate their own vines.

At the end of the route, we arrive at the charming Zagori village of Kapesovo with its natural beauty, the particular traditional Zagorian architecture that characterizes it with its stone two-store mansions and cobbled streets and the panoramic view of the Vikos gorge.
