OIKA
The Oika movement consists of an international community of artists, storytellers and media creators who are committed to manifesting ecological intelligence. Through their work they create a new culture in alliance and alignment with nature. Ecological intelligence, as defined by the movement’s founder Dr. Rich Blundell, is the relational creativity of nature as expressed through human thought and action. Launched by environmentalist Dr. Rich Blundell in the USA, Oika’s network, which is evolving into a global movement with participating artists from around the world, spans from North America to Europe, including the UK, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and Greece.
As part of the global OIKA movement, Ecomuseum Zagori implemented an artist residency program in October 2022, where we hosted OIKA artists from Greece, the UK and Denmark in the Zagori area. During their stay in Zagori, the artists created a booklet inspired by the nature and culture of the region combined with the roots of the local community. In this booklet, the artists’ experience of Zagori is summarized and expressed through their stay and their connection to the majestic mountains, the pristine forests and the crystal clear waters of the place.
You can find the booklet created by the artists through their experience during their stay in Zagori here:
